For machines larger than 4000 kN (400 t), the Pressmag HP offers long-pole technology. This provides the highest concentration of magnetic flux and superior clamping force, with a sheet thickness of only 55 mm.

Like the Pressmag LP system, the electropermanent Pressmag HP is a compensated system. Once the system is turned on, the long pole becomes the north pole and the frame plate becomes the south pole. When the die is tensioned, the rare-earth neodynium magnets and AINiCo magnets remain active until turned off, and the clamping force remains perfectly constant.

STRONGER AND LONGER

The Pressmag HP is a compensated system. This means that the poles are not north or south poles, as in the Pressmag SP system; here the long poles act as north plus poles and the frame plates as south minus poles. The permanent neodynium and AlNiCo magnet are always active.

To magnetize, the electrical voltage in the coils reverses the polarity of the ALNiCo magnets. The magnetic fields generated by the magnets are directed to the pole side of the clamping bush, which is turned on as soon as the mold is clamped. A new electrical voltage reverses the polarity of the AlNiCO magnets and shuts down the system for the demagnetization phase, after which the mold detaches. By concentrating all long poles for larger machines in the tie rod area, adding non-magnetic shims on both sides and adding a stainless steel strip in the rear corner of these shims for higher concentration of magnetic flux, more force is created in the tie rod area.
