Unlock new markets with the power of steam!
The biggest obstacle to circular plastics is not recycling, but contamination.
The mechanical recycling of post-consumer plastics, particularly polyolefins such as PE and PP, faces a major obstacle to their use in high-quality products: odour.
After being used in packaging for detergents, cosmetics, foodstuffs or oils, these plastics absorb volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that are difficult to remove,
even during traditional washing and extrusion processes. These residual VOCs in recycled plastic pellets cause unpleasant odours, thereby limiting their reusability in many productskt.
PCR plastics absorb VOCs (volatile organic compounds) and odours that cannot be completely removed using traditional washing and extrusion processes.
This makes circularity extremely difficult for high-quality applications such as cosmetics, packaging, engineering plastics and the automotive sector.
True circularity means PCR that can compete with virgin material, but with current processes, recycled plastic is often limited to lower-value applications, which prevents the circular economy from truly scaling up.
💡 Disinfection is the missing step.
Technologies such as >use steam and vacuum to remove VOCs from recycled plastic, eliminating < 2 >96% of unwanted odours and making high-quality applications possible once again.
This patented process is being launched in collaboration with Fych Technologies, the scientific team behind the technology, and delivers results that are currently unrivalled in the market.
The PureSteam odour control and disinfection system uses patented (FYCH patent EP4013300A1), scientifically proven technology to remove odours and VOCs in the most effective and rapid manner.
The key: using steam and vacuum to accelerate the migration of VOCs from the plastic, after which they are extracted and removed.
This allows recycled plastic to be transformed into a highly pure, odourless raw material, ready for use in demanding applications such as cosmetics and sensitive packaging.
- The most effective technology on the market for producing odourless, high-quality pellets.
- Shorter dwell times and higher productivity
- The processed pellets can be used for the most demanding applications.
- Can be integrated into any existing pelletising process.
